Description

Walt Disney Animation Studios presents an epic tale of adventure and comedy with Frozen. When a prophecy traps a kingdom in eternal winter, Anna, a young dreamer, must team up with Kristoff, a daring mountain man, and his reindeer on the grandest of journeys to find Anna''s sister, the Snow Queen Elsa, and put an end to her icy spell. Encountering mystical trolls, a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Everest-like extremes, and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction. Directed by Chris Buck ( Tarzan) and produced by Peter Del Vecho ( Winnie the Pooh,The Princess and the Frog), the comedy-adventure Frozen journeys into theaters in November 2013. This Step 2 Step into Reading leveled reader brings all the magic and adventure of Frozen to girls and boys ages 4-6 who are just learning to read on their own.

This is an early reader version of the movie Frozen. The font is quite large to help letter identification for early readers and the sentences are very simple: "They meet Olaf. He is a nice snowman."

My 3.5-year-old daughter loves the movie Frozen and enjoys this book as well, despite the simple sentences. She is not reading yet, but is able to identify letters and this book is something we use to practice that skill.

The one downside is that it doesn''t seem to be put together very well. After about a week of constantly looking at it the pages started falling out and the cover separated from the spine. It has been taped back together, but for something that is clearly targeted at a younger audience should be reinforced a little more.

This is a great summary of the book. It has great pictures and the words used are easy for my 5-year-old to read.

That being said, I bought this for my daughter for Easter, in less than 1 week, it had almost completely fallen apart. My daughter is 5 and other than the occasional crinkled pages, she takes good care of her books. This book is glued together and literally every page was torn out of the binding from the bottom to about halfway up the page. More than half completely came out. The whole book is now held together with packaging tape.

We have numerous books from the Step Into Reading series and nothing like this has happened before. Other books in this series have string reinforcing the binding. The Frozen book does not have the string reinforcement and it obviously made a huge difference. Not sure why they went so cheap for this story.

What a disappointment! Just wanted to warn people. I suggest reinforcing it with some tape as soon as you get it. It will probably look a lot better that way.

There are a handful of young girls in our family who are crazy for anything "Frozen". Since I''m always looking for something to get them interested in reading, a Frozen book seemed perfect.

I thought the overall story was a little weak. Choppy sentences, and words that Step 2 readers may not know. Our solution is to read the books with the girls, to help with the words they don''t know. They''re so thrilled to be reading a Frozen book that they don''t care how hard it is, or whether they''ve read it a dozen times already.

We''ll certainly look for more Frozen books in the future. They''re a hit with every little girl we know.

This review is for the e-book. My 7 year old wanted this as she is a big Frozen fan and she was well above the reading level (she is 2nd grade) so she had no problems going through it. It follows the movie which makes it easy for kids familiar with it to get into. The pictures are good, again pretty much straight out of the movie which is good for fans, as they are quality.
It is a pretty basic book with simplified vocabulary. Most kindergarten to 1st grade readers should have few problems reading it. Nothing too mind blowing, any kid that enjoyed the movie will more than likely enjoy reading this as well.

My 2.5 yr old daughter loves this book. She has us read it almost every night. It helped her get interested in the characters from Frozen and understand the movie. Even now that she has seen the movie she still likes to read this book. The writing is definitely on a young reader level which makes it more difficult for us to read to her but I can see how it makes it easier for her to understand and follow along.

We will probably buy more Step into Reading books for her.

This book was delivered to our door on a snow day (couldn''t have been more perfect) and I hadn''t even got it completely out of the package before our 6 year old was on my lap asking me to read it to her. This book is the shortest possible form of the movie. Our little girl loved knowing what was going to happen next as she saw the movie. At the moment this is our favorite book and movie! There are some words that I believe are a little tough for the level of book, but I think a little challenge / sounding out is a good thing!

I purchased Frozen because of its high ratings. I was disappointed to see that this is what children''s writing has come to. It was more of a summary of the Disney movie than a story. I''m not sure young readers would even understand parts of it if they haven''t seen the movie. For example, "Elsa makes a mistake. Her magic hits Anna." What does this even mean? The commercial appeal is evident, but the beauty of a good story is not. Beyond that, the book appears to be formatted for print rather than Kindle. Therefore, illustrations are not full screen and the gutter seam shows through many pages of the book. I just feel we can do better to inspire the imaginations of young readers than recycled summaries of movies.

My little girl is absolutely thrilled with these she reognises all her individual letters but not words yet so as her brothe ralready has Biff Chip and Kipper that has helped him learn to read I thought this would catch her interest. She is completely enamoured and loves them reading them at bedtime (making them up currently!) Some of the words in the books I would say are not actually the level they are aimed at but I am all for stretching kids. My only complaint is that if you have more than 1 book then the story and pictures are just repeated and rehased from different viewpoints in each to a certain extent sometimes.

Bought a couple of copies as prizes for a Frozen-themed birthday party. They were a big hit with the girls! Not exactly a great story and obviously imported from the US, but much better than just buying cheap tat - would be great for party bags.
